The General Directorate of Biodiversity (DIBIO) is an entity of the The ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (SERNA) in charge of the conservation, protection and sustainable use of biodiversity in Honduras. His work includes the management of protected areas, the implementation of international conventions and the promotion of environmental education.

The Clearing house mechanism of the Convention on Biological Diversity (Clearing-House Mechanism - CHM) it is a platform that facilitates access to information on biodiversity, promoting cooperation between institutions, the exchange of scientific data and making decisions based on up to date knowledge.

All the information of the portal is public and free to access. You can browse through the various sections, use the search bar to find specific documents, and browse the categories of knowledge management, statistics, resources, and news.

You can enroll in events through the form available in the section of Event registration. There you will find details on the activities, dates, and requirements of participation.

If you have a proposal relating to the conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity, you can send it through the form of Project proposals. The information will be reviewed by the team of the Directorate of Biodiversity, and to evaluate its feasibility within existing programs.

If you want to collaborate on projects of biodiversity, you can sign up in the form of Volunteer, where you can indicate your availability, interests, and abilities. Once you have sent your request, the team of the Directorate of Biodiversity will contact you to coordinate your participation.

If you have identified an activity that puts you at risk biodiversity, as illegal trafficking of species, deforestation or pollutionyou may lodge a complaint at the section of Allegations Environmental. Your report will be reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for follow-up.

In the lower part of the web site you'll find an option to change between Spanish and English. The translation of the content is performed manually to ensure the quality of information and the correct adaptation of the documents and resources.

Yes, the portal has a section of Knowledge management where you can access the reports, studies, technical documents, and educational materials about biodiversity. Many of these files are available in PDF format for free download.
